11th International Yoga Day Celebrated at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Multipurpose Stadium, Fazilka under CM di Yogshala

The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm today at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Multipurpose Stadium, Fazilka, under the leadership of the district administration and in collaboration with CM di Yogshala and the Department of Ayurveda. On this occasion, local MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, SSP Gurmeet Singh, Khushboo Sawansukha Sawna, and a large number of local residents participated in the event with full enthusiasm.
The event aimed to spread awareness about the importance of yoga among citizens and to inspire them to adopt a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle. Participants from all age groups — children, youth, senior citizens, and government officials — performed various yoga postures together with great energy.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is taking major steps to promote yoga across the state. He informed that under the CM di Yogshala program, 4,709 yoga classes are being conducted daily across Punjab, with 78 classes running in Fazilka district alone.
He added that over 2.15 lakh individuals participate daily in these yoga sessions across the state, including 8,445 participants from Fazilka district. He further emphasized that yoga is a heritage of India that helps keep both body and mind healthy. He encouraged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu informed that under the CM di Yogshala program, individuals who wish to learn yoga can simply give a missed call on the number 76694-00500. Arrangements will then be made to send a qualified instructor to their area for training.
The event was also attended by SP Mukhtiar Rai, SDM Veer Pal Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (General) Amandeep Singh Mavi, State Consultant of CM di Yogshala Kamlesh Mishra, District Coordinator Radhe Shyam, Dr. Satpal, and the entire team of CM di Yogshala Program.
During the session, participants performed various yoga asanas including Surya Namaskar, Pranayama, Tadasana, Trikonasana, and Bhujangasana. Excellent arrangements were also made for Chhabil (refreshing sweet water service) and refreshments at the venue.
