CPSCM reviews progress of pro-people schemes, directs officials to complete ongoing projects within stipulated time

With completion of 99.2 percent projects under Smart Village Campaign phase-1 and commencement of 2019 works under phase-2, Jalandhar district has emerged one of the leading districts in state to complete these projects within timeline.Participating in a state-level virtual review meeting chaired by Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that

Jalandhar : With completion of 99.2 percent projects under Smart Village Campaign phase-1 and commencement of 2019 works under phase-2, Jalandhar district has emerged one of the leading districts in state to complete these projects within timeline.Participating in a state-level virtual review meeting chaired by Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that district administration was working round the clock to ensure time-bound completion of the development projects.Divulging more, he said that under Smart Village Campaign Phase-1 as many as 956 projects had already been completed in the district at an outlay of Rs. 43 Crore. Similarly, under Phase-2 2019 works have been initiated out of a total of 2047 sanctioned projects, which will be accomplished at a cost of Rs. 53 Crore. He added that the construction of as many as 58 model playgrounds had been started in the district of which a total of 14 model playground were completed so far while work on remaining ones was going on full pace.
The deputy commissioner said that under Mahatma Gandhi sarbat Vikas Yojna a total of 184183 beneficiaries had been assisted with the benefits of various pro-people scheme of Captain government. Mr. Thori mentioned that the district has achieved 145 percent of its target under Ghar-Ghar Rojgar Scheme by ensuring maximum registration and placement in the district.Under Urban Environment Improvement Program (UEIP), the deputy commissioner said that a total 238 development projects had been completed at an outlay of Rs. 2024.6 Lakh in phase-1 and a total of 503 projects were approved by the state government under phase-2 out of which as many as 60 projects at a cost of Rs. 464.28 Lakh were underway.The deputy commissioner reiterated that the administration was extending requisite benefits to eligible beneficiaries so that they could take full advantage of state government’s schemes.Prominent among others present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Vishesh Sarangal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jasbir Singh, SDMs Rahul Sindhu, Jai Inder Singh, and Dr. Sanjiv Sharma.
