Will not stop pursuing those who defamed our farmers: AAP

Mohali : Raising the voice of the farmers on every front and standing shoulder to shoulder to strengthen their agitation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stated that it will not stop pursuing those who defamed the farmers. On January 22, a farmer of Kharar and the AAP worker Narinder Singh Shergill through his lawyer Hardeep Singh, had filed a defamation case against BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri for the defamatory statements made by him against the protesting farmers. A statement issued by the party said that evidence for the case was filed on Friday in the Mohali court and the date of summoning was awaited.Ramesh Bidhuri had stated that the farmers who were sitting at the borders were getting their money from across the border. Moreover, he even used derogatory and abusive language while referring to the protesting farmers. Taking offence at these statements, Narinder Shergill had filed a defamation case against Ramesh Bidhuri at Mohali court. On Friday, after a long wait, Narinder Shergill was called to court to submit the evidence.While addressing the media, Shergill said that the BJP, because of their coarse attitude and nature had been abusing the farmers for a very long time, but now they need to know that the farmers of Punjab will not sit silently. “We will make them pay for their words. I have filed this defamation case to show them that even we can fight back through the power of law,” he said. Narinder Singh Shergill said that he had been to the Singhu and Tikri borders and had served the protesting farmers. “I have felt their pain and fear. This pain and fear must not be disrespected,” he added.
