Summer Camps emerge as source of creativity and innovation among students

DC Ashika Jain applauds the budding scientist, Visits Government Model Senior Secondary School of Phase 3B1

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar : Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said that the Summer Camps have virtually been emerging as source of creativity and innovative ideas among the students.The students have been displaying remarkable models and other creativities in the summer camps.
DC with a view to boosting the morale of the students and teachers ,today visited Government Model Senior Secondary School, Phase 3B1, Mohali.She was quite elated to witness the students’ self confidence, style of presentation and ideas behind the creativity, which included, models of Water Dispenser , Water Tank , Toy Telephone , vacuum cleaner, Photosynthesis , Solar Irrigation.
It seems they have gained a thorough knowledge from their teachers to give practical shape to these models. It also proves their grasping power and learning skills” said the DC while adding that these budding scientists would definitely achieve their future targets to serve the Nation.
Interacting with the students who have displayed the scientific models during the summer camp, she boosts them to excel in a particular field of their choice . While exhorting them to decide their goal as it is the appropriate time , the DC said that a goal once decided needs utmost sincerity and hard work to meet it.
The students were given tasks of scientific models, mathematical models and learning techniques, creativity on drawing sheets and they diligently proved their worth, added deputy commissioner. Solar Irrigation System, Best out of waste, fundamental rights, types of soil, Volcano eruption, Hydro Electricity, EVM, age calculator, Abacus, Addition and Subtraction, Factor Tree methods were also attracting attention.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain asked the District Education Officer (Secondary), Dr Ginni Duggal, who was accompanying her during the visit, to provide the students an opportunity to visit to science city, zoo and historical places so that they can have more knowledge beyond the curriculum.
She also asked her to send the students to the swimming pool of GMADA for learning swimming.The deputy commissioner also inspected the students who were attending their class under School of Eminence. She also saw the museum where important models of prominent sites have been displayed to show the students.
The District Education Officer, Dr Ginni Duggal said that the students up to Middle Standard have been made the part of summer camps and the schedule of day to day activities have been decided by the Department of School Education as per the guidance of Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains.
The summer camps would be organized till July 15 and have been launched after the reopening of schools on July 3.Deputy DEO Angrej Singh, Principal Salinder Singh and the staff of the school were present there during the visit of DC Aashika Jain.
