Hoshiarpur : In a rare distinction, District Health Officer and Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of Police Hospital Dr. Lakhvir Singh today received Director General of Police’s honour from SSP Navjot Singh Mahal in his office. The DGP’s Honour has been bestowed for ‘Exemplary Seva to Society’ especially amid the ongoing health crisis due to COVID-19.While presenting the honour, SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said that the services being rendered by the Police Hospital in the current COVID circumstances were highly laudable. He said that the Police Hospital under Dr. Lakhvir Singh   ensuring COVID testing and vaccination not only for police personnel and their families but also for the citizens of adjoining areas. This award has come as a recognition to the exceptional work done by the officer at  frontline to contain the further spread of infection.Meanwhile, expressing gratitude to the Director General of Police Mr. Dinkar Gupta and Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal for commending the services of Police Hospitals. He said that he was overwhelmed at being chosen for the rare honor adding that the vaccination drive would continue at war-footing.On the directives of the DGP, a special testing camp today organised in the SSP office under the able guidance of SSP Navjot Singh Mahal. Dr Lakhvir Singh said that more than 80 samples had been collected of all the staff working in SSP Office.
