Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the upcoming Ludhiana (West) Assembly bypoll, visited the office of Deepak Fasteners Ltd India’s largest industrial fasteners manufacturer on Wednesday evening to interact with the employees and seek their support.
Addressing the gathering, Arora presented his “three-year report card,” showcasing major development projects initiated and pursued under his leadership. These include the Halwara Airport, the elevated road project, the upgradation of ESI and Civil Hospitals, and the construction of four new bridges on the Sidhwan Canal.
He also mentioned the creation of parking lots along the elevated road, the development of a cycle track, and beautification efforts beneath the elevated road. “I am happy that consistent efforts have translated into meaningful development,” Arora said.
“Besides these large-scale projects, I have also worked to improve the city’s core civic infrastructure including the installation of over 15,000 LED streetlights, improvement of roads and public parks, and other essential amenities.”
He appealed to employees to support and vote for him based on the visible development progress. Deepak Fasteners Ltd’s President and Managing Director, Sanjeev Kalra, lauded Arora’s developmental contributions.
“He is a good human being and deeply committed to society. Among today’s politicians, Arora stands out for his passion and dedication to public welfare,” Kalra said. He further added that Arora is known for maintaining a clean image and for being accessible to the public qualities that, according to him, are rare in politics.
Adding, he appealed to his staff to support Arora in the upcoming bypoll for the betterment not just of Ludhiana, but of Punjab as a whole. “We are with you, Arora Ji,” he said, as employees responded with applause, signaling their collective support.
Sushant Kalra, Director at Deepak Fasteners Ltd, also addressed the gathering. He pointed out that Arora had modestly forgotten to mention a few key initiatives one being the establishment of a dog sanctuary to tackle the stray dog menace in city. “Arora is a leader who doesn’t just talk he delivers. We must support him for a better city,” Sushant added.
