People Take Selfies with Shera Mascot at Gurdwara Amb Sahib on Vaisakhi Celebrations

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar : In continuation of its ongoing Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation campaign, the district SVEEP team, today, visited Gurdwara Amb Sahib on the sacred occasion of Vaisakhi and made aware of the people coming there to pay obeisance, about the upcoming festival of democracy; Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
Divulging the details, the District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Prof Gurbakhshish Singh Antal said that as per the directions of the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C and District Electoral Officer, Mrs Aashika Jain, the SVEEP activities in the district have been accelerated to sensitise the voters of Voting Right. Starting from the first IPL match, played at New Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, where about 450 first-time voters were given a chance to witness the match, the District SVEEP team has planned and worked on a lot of activities to make the voters aware of the voting right.
He said that the Holi festival was also celebrated by the SVEEP team by visiting the Holy Celebration Events organised at various theme parks, resorts etc and the people were given mugs, caps and key chains besides t-shirts carrying messages of the Election Commission of India. He said that today on the occasion of Vaisakhi, District Gatka Association, SAS Nagar has conducted a Gatka Competition that provided an effective platform to the SVEEP team where Bhangra was also performed and branding spreading out the messages of voting, was also displayed.
The people who thronged to the Gurdwara Sahib and Gatka Competition, showed special attraction towards the selfie points installed there with the election mascot Shera 2.0 and got clicked photographs. Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar, District Good Governance Fellow, Vijay Luxmi and Election Kanugo Surinder Batra were also present during the activity. Sweet water in glasses conveying message of vote, was distributed by the SVEEP team also.

ਆਉਂਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨ ਲਈ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਵੋਟਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ (ਸਵੀਪ) ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਵੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਅੰਬ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਣ ਲਈ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਵੀਪ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਗੁਰਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਅੰਟਾਲ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਿਬਿਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵੀਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਨਵੇਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਕੇਟ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਮੁੱਲਾਂਪੁਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐਲ ਮੈਚ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਜਿੱਥੇ 450 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਚ ਦੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਵੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਈ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਵੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥੀਮ ਪਾਰਕਾਂ, ਰਿਜ਼ੋਰਟਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਨਾਏ ਗਏ ਹੋਲੀ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਤਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਹੋਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਟੀ-ਸ਼ਰਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਮੱਗ, ਕੈਪਸ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਬੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਗੱਤਕਾ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ.ਨਗਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੱਤਕਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਵੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਮੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਭੰਗੜਾ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਰਡਿੰਗ ਤੇ ਕੱਟ ਆਊਟ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਗਤਕਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੋਣ ਮਾਸਕੌਟ ਸ਼ੇਰਾ 2.0 ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਸੈਲਫੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਖਿੱਚ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਖਿਚਵਾਈਆਂ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਗੱਤਕਾ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਤਖ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਮਾਰਚ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚੋਣ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਗੁੱਡ ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ ਫੈਲੋ ਵਿਜੇ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ, ਆਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਬਾਜਪਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਕਾਨੂੰਗੋ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਬੱਤਰਾ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
