Concept- HELMET BANK
Patiala Foundation has initiated the concept of ‘Helmet Bank’ with the aim of making the two-wheelers user habitual to the use of helmet in daily routine in order to protect their precious lives from any mishap. The earlier this habit is inculcated in the young riders, the better it is for the society as a whole.Under this project, we shall distribute the helmets to the road safety club members of various educational institutions. The two wheeler users can borrow the helmet from the Helmet Bank for their ride and they will have to return the helmet to the member incharge after finishing the ride. For the entire functioning, we have designed an android app namely ‘Helmet Bank’. With help of this app, the users can easily borrow the helmets from the Bank managers.
How this app works?
The foremost step is that, one has to register himself/ herself as Helmet user or Helmet Bank manager (whosoever wants to be). The request made for the Helmet Bank manager shall be approved by Patiala Foundation whereas Helmet Bank manager can approve the Helmet users. To book a helmet, the user has to login first by entering the registered mail id.After login, the user will find the allotted Banks and he/she has to select the Helmet bank according to his/ her location or availability in the Helmet bank. The user will receive the notification after booking a helmet. In the meanwhile, the Helmet Bank manager will receive a request and he/she shall review and process it.After accepting the request, the Helmet Bank manager shall allot a helmet with its Unique ID number according to the availability of helmets in his/her Helmet bank. The user will be allotted a helmet from the Helmet Bank for a maximum period of 24 hrs. When the user will return a helmet, the bank manager shall receive it after checking the condition of the helmet. The Helmet user profile shall be updated after every completed transaction to maintain and upgrade the user data and identify/blacklist any defaulters. After completion of the transaction, the user will receive the notification in the History option
