Awareness Program on Drug Abuse Organised in Karial Village

Dharamkot/Moga : The NSS unit of the University Institute of Laws collaborated with the NSS unit of Panjab University Constituent College, Dharamkot, Moga, organized an Awareness Drive on Drug Abuse in Karial village, Dharamkot, Moga district. The event’s patrons were Prof. (Dr.) Aman Amrit Cheema, Director PURC, Ludhiana, and Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Virk, Principal, PU Constituent College, Dharamkot, Moga.
The event was skillfully coordinated by faculty members Dr. Pooja Sikka (Programme Officer) and Ms. Sumanpreet Kaur. During the event, Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Virk addressed the villagers, highlighting the severity of Drug Abuse with the message “Choose not to use! Chase your dreams, not drugs.”
The IPTA team presented a Nukkad Natika, vividly portraying how college students are coerced into drug usage and how their lives and families suffer due to their relentless drug needs. NSS volunteers engaged with villagers, emphasizing the importance of awareness and staying away from drugs.
The village Sarpanch, Rupinderjeet Singh, appreciated and expressed gratitude towards Dr. (Prof) Ashish Virk and all other volunteers, acknowledging their dedicated presence in the village. The tireless efforts in spreading socio-legal awareness about drug abuse, along with door-to-door grassroots campaigns, were recognized as significant contributions towards the betterment of the community.
