CBC and Health Deptt organises POSHAN Abhiyan and immunization camp

Women must care for their health for a healthy society : Sandeep Hans

Hoshiarpur : Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and district health department jointly organised a programme on POSHAN to generate awareness amongst women, adolescent girls and children for their better health at Public Health Centre in Village Possi, today.

An immunization camp for women and children was also organised on this occasion.The programme was started by remembering Shaheed E Azam Bhagat Singh on his 115th birth anniversary.

Chief Guest of the programme, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans while addressing the gathering called upon the women to must care for their health.He said a healthy society can only be made by healthy mothers. He said they must also care to get themselves immunized.

He also administered oath to general public to keep the Nation malnutrition free.He informed that the POSHAN Abhiyan was launched by the Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on March 8, 2018 from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan and since then countless women have taken benefit of this program.

Civil Surgeon Dr Preet Mohinder Singh was the Guest of Honour of the programme. Distt Immunization Officer Dr Seema Sood, SMO, PHC Possi Dr. Raghubir Singh and Distt Programme Officer Sh. Amarjeet Singh Bhullar were also present on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner while appreciating the working of PHC Possi in providing adequate health services to the villagers called upon the people to take maximum benefit of the health services provided by government.

Field Publicity Officer of the Ministry Rajesh Bali said that such programs on POSHAN are being organised by CBC at various places in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. He said the main purpose of the programme is to make women aware about their health.

He informed that in the healthy baby show organised for the children between 0-6 years of age group, Prateek Banga s/o Ruby Banga was adjudged first, Prabhkirat Singh s/o Prabhjot Kaur was second, Japjeet Kaur d/o Asha remained third where as consolation prize was given to Gurbakhsh Kaur d/o Mrs Niharika Sandhu. All the winners along with participants were given certificates of the CBC also.

The Deputy Commissioner especially appreciated the stalls of nutritious food put up by the ICDS department from the office of Distt Programme Officer.Nukkad Nataks on immunization and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao by artists of the Ministry and from the local nursing college during the programme were appreciated by the public
