Chandigarh : Raising their voice in support of the farmers’ who are struggling against the centre’s agriculture black laws, Aam Aadmi Party senior leaders and MPs Bhagwant Mann and Sanjay Singh, on Friday, protested against farm bills in Parliament’s Central Hall in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Addressing the media on the issue at Chandigarh, Senior AAP leader and MLA from Sunam Aman Arora said that when PM Modi started his ‘Jumla’ speech in the Parliament Central Hall; AAP MPs Bhagwant Mann and Sanjay Singh, raised the voice of lakhs of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and other states who were sitting on the Delhi borders in the biting cold and struggling against the anti-farmers black laws. “The voice of lakh of farmers raised by AAP MPs in the Parliament did not fall on the deaf ears of PM Modi. He did not pay heed and left the venue turning a blind eye. The country has today witnessed as to how a 56-inch chest PM, failed to face just two representatives and walked away,” he said.Arora said that as Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt, had hurled bombs inside the Central Legislative Assembly, New Delhi in protest against an unfavorable bill and to wake up the UK government, similarly, the sons of the soil of Punjab, MPs Bhagwant Mann and Sanjay Singh, raised the voice of ‘annadatas’ in the Parliament to try to wake up the Modi-led-centre government from its slumber, who are ‘sleeping over’ the issue of anti-farmers black laws. He said that that many meetings had been held since the inception of farmers’ movement and the government was playing the ‘game of letters’, but it was very unfortunate that the issue pertaining to farmers’ was not redressed yet.“This is because there are flaws in the intentions and policies of the Modi government.
PM Modi does not have time to meet lakh of farmers sitting on the Delhi borders since last month, but can do online interactions through Zoom and Skype with farmers of other states. PM Modi can only do ‘Mann ki Baat’, but cannot talk about farm issues in his live speech, TV show or a talk show. Even the Parliament session was adjourned giving the reason for farmers’ agitation,” he said.Taking a dig at the Prime Minister, Arora said that today when the farmers of the country were agitating for their rights on the Delhi borders, PM Modi was acting as a mediator of corporate houses and peddling lies about the farmers’ genuine demands. He said that the Union Government was misleading the people of the country by spreading rumors about the farmers and their ongoing struggle, instead of taking an urgent call on their demands.”Modi government should abandon its stubborn stance and accede to the demands and immediately reverse the draconian laws aimed at benefiting the corporate houses,” added Arora.Arora said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was proud of the MPs, who questioned PM Modi, eye to eye on the farmers’ issue. He further said that few other Congress MPs were also present at the Parliament Central Hall, but no one raised the voice of farmers. He said even Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was sitting in his farmhouse, but did not try to meet PM Modi on the farmers’ issue. He said that the dharna being staged by Congress MLAs and MPs at Jantar Mantar in Delhi was also a part of weakening the farmers’ struggle. Arora further slammed SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and Harsimrat Badal, questioning them about their whereabouts when two AAP representatives were raising the voice of farmers in the Parliament. Targeting Congress and SAD, Arora said, “Why these parties do not utter a word against PM Modi. This is because they are hand-in-gloves with the Modi government and are working at their behest. Congress and SAD used to term AAP as a B-team of BJP, but they themselves are double faced.”
