As per the schedule released by the Election Commission of India, the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab has initiated Special Summary Revision electoral rolls. As per the Schedule the Special Summary Revision of the electoral rolls is going to start from today and will be concluded on 15 December.While initiating the process in the district Extra Assistant Commissioner Deepankar Garg (U.T.) meets the representatives of the political parties of the district and releases the draft electoral rolls.Mr. Deepankar Garg handed over a set of draft electoral rolls and a CD of electoral rolls to the representatives of political parties. He said that one can submit their objections and claims for the revision of their votes to the concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) or

He said that one can submit their objections and claims for the revision of their votes to the concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) or Electoral Registration Officers until 16 December.Further he said that persons who have completed or will be completing the age of 18 on or before date 01.01.2021. can apply for inclusion in the Voter List.A first time voter or voter who has changed his residence from one constituency to another can request through form no.6 for inclusion in the electoral rolls.Through form no 7 one can request to remove another person’s name from electoral rolls due to death or change of address.Form no.8 can be filled for the modification of details recorded in Electoral rolls.Requests can be made under Form no. 8A to shift the vote from one place to another in the same constituency.Mr. Deepankar Garg said that, on 21, 22 November 2020 and 5, 6 December 2020 (four days) special campaign dates, claims, objections would be received by the booth level officers present at their polling booths.Mr. Garg appealed to the people to make maximum use of www.NVSP.in and Voter Helpline App for their enrollment in the voter list keeping in view social distancing and the government guidelines for Covid-19. For any information relating to the enrollment one can dial the toll free number 1950. Tehsildar (Elections) Sanjay Kumar and representatives of the political parties were also present on the occasion.
