Preparations for the 74th Republic Day functions in full swing in Mohali

S.A.S. Nagar : Deputy Commissioner Mohali Aashika Jain today reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in the district in the presence of Amaninder Brar, ADC General and Avneet Kaur, ADC Rural Development and Damanjit Mann, ADC Urban Development .

The flag hoisting shall be performed by Sh. Aman Arora, Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Development, New and Renewable Energy and Information and Public Relations as the Chief Guest. The programme shall be held at Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh Government College, Phase -6, Mohali.

The students from various educational institutions shall be participating in cultural performances on the occasion. PT drill shall be performed by the students of government schools of the district. Fan Drill shall be presented by the students of Sutlej Public School, Derabassi.

The students of Shivalik school, Mohali shall be performing folk dance Sami. Special children from the 3B1 Government school shall present the national anthem at the closing of the programme.

The outstanding performers in the public service shall be awarded certificates on the occasion. Sewing machines, wheelchairs and Beauty kits are also being distributed by Red Cross Society, Mohali. The tableaux shall be displaying the work of various departments.

A special millet stall is also being setup to spread awareness of the nutritional benefits of millets. Final dress rehearsal will take place at 9:58 AM on 24th January 2023 at the same venue. Elaborate security arrangements have been made jointly with the police for the event.

The district officials including Smt Sarabjeet Kaur, SDM Mohali, Sh. Tarsem Chand, Assistant Commissioner General, Sh. Inder Pal, CM Field Officer and Ajinder Singh, SP Headquarters remained present for the meeting.
