Iss baar 70 paar- Selfie points in hotels, cinemas, malls, parlours, restaurants to create voting awareness

Ludhiana : In order to achieve a voting percentage of over 70% during the upcoming general elections, special selfie points will be set up in hotels, cinemas, malls, parlours, and restaurants. These points are designed to encourage maximum participation from voters, especially young people. The initiative is part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program and aims to sensitize voters to participate in the democratic process.
At a meeting held in Bachat Bhawan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Major Amit Sareen stated that the selfie points will not only provide a new place for people to have their picture taken, but also disseminate the message of voting to them. He told that the selfie points must be set up in lounges and entry/exit areas, so that people can use them conveniently for clicking their pictures.
He hoped that this effort would motivate young voters to participate enthusiastically in the upcoming general elections. Apart from setting up selfie points, Sareen also asked cinema hall owners to show video messages of ethical voting before and during movie shows. Fuel stations were asked to display voter awareness hoardings to sensitize voters, and restaurants were requested to offer discounts on food items to voters with inked fingers on voting day (June 1).
Sareen emphasized that hotels, restaurants, cinemas, malls, and parlours could play a crucial role in motivating residents to come out in large numbers when the district goes to the polls on June 1. He urged all stakeholders to give their full support in achieving a voting percentage of more than 70% this time.

ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਦੌਰਾਨ 70 ਫੀਸਦ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੀ ਵੋਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ, ਹੋਟਲਾਂ, ਸਿਨੇਮਾਘਰਾਂ, ਮਾਲ, ਪਾਰਲਰ ਅਤੇ ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੈਲਫੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਨੁਕਤੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਵੋਟਰਜ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਪਾਰਟੀਸੀਪੇਸ਼ਨ (ਸਵੀਪ) ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਬੱਚਤ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਜ) ਮੇਜਰ ਅਮਿਤ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੈਲਫੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਖਿੱਚਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵੀ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੈਲਫੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਲਾਉਂਜ ਅਤੇ ਐਂਟਰੀ/ਐਗਜ਼ਿਟ ਏਰੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਕਲਿੱਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਆਮ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਸੈਲਫੀ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਹਾਲ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਲਮ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ। ਫਿਊਲ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਹੋਰਡਿੰਗ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ (1 ਜੂਨ) ‘ਤੇ ਸਿਆਹੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਛੋਟ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਜਰ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਹੋਟਲ, ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟ, ਸਿਨੇਮਾਘਰ, ਮਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਲਰ 1 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਈਵਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ‘ਇਸ ਵਾਰ 70 ਪਾਰ’ ਦੇ ਟੀਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੇਣ।
