Divisional Commissioner inspects COVID care arrangements in Kharar Block

Visits Civil Hospital and flu centre, Holds one to one patient interaction

To assess the ground reality of COVID care being administered to the patients, Commissioner Roopnagar Division, Rahul Tewari made a surprise check at Civil Hospital in Kharar sub-division of SAS Nagar.He inspected the hospital ward and held one- to-one interaction with patients to take feedback on care and medical facilities being provided to them. Taking the doctors by utter surprise, he took hold of the patient entry register of patients in home isolation and made random calls to a few. He enquired about the frequency of calls by doctors and also sought their suggestions to further improve medical care to the patients in home

He enquired about the frequency of calls by doctors and also sought their suggestions to further improve medical care to the patients in home isolation.Besides, reviewing the status of care and treatment given to the COVID19 patients the Divisional Commissioner took stock of the supplies of medicine and oxygen available in the hospital.The most interesting part of the visit was that the staff nervous at the presence of a senior bureaucrat, found him supporting and encouraging when he mingled with them and de-stressed them and took selfies with them. “To boost the morale of the doctors and paramedics working for exhaustive hours since past six months midst most challenging times, is the least we can do for them”, said Tewari.
Later, he visited the local Tehsil Office and took stock of stamp duty collection, recoveries, pendency of court cases and the working of Farad Kendra. He pulled up the staff for unorganized file upkeep and for lacunas in auto updation of jamabandi record. Ms Manisha Rana IAS (under training) who is looking after the charge of SDM Kharar facilitated the visit of the Divisional Commissioner.
