Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain orders strict action against the sale of China Dor

Appeals people to use simple chords to fly kites

S.A.S. Nagar : Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, has ordered strict action against the sale of China Dor and emphasized the need to educate people about the deadly effects of this dor.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that in the ongoing kite flying season, people must be ware of the China Dor which is dangerous both for kite flyers and people wandering around. In the past, many untoward incidents have been witnessed on account of the use of this dor which has since been banned by the government.

She appealed to the educational institutions, civil society members and the residents to spread awareness of the risks associated with this dor. She appealed to the people to ensure that the traditional dor is used at all costs and to report any person found selling or using a Chinese dor to the authorities so that legal action can be taken against them.

The Deputy Commissioner explained that enforcement teams have been constituted at sub-divisional level to check the sale and use of China Dor. Inspections have been conducted by SDM Kharar Ravinder Singh in Kurali market, SDM Mohali Sarabjeet Kaur in Phase 11 market along with their police counterparts.

She said that the decoys are also being sent in civil dress to conduct surprise checks. She said that special checking is being done at Trivedi camp and Mubarakpur area at Derabassi as well.
She informed that case against violator has been registered under section 188 by the Hundesara police station after finding a china dor with a shopkeeper at Lalru.

XEN Pollution Control Board Gursharan Dass Garg has been made Nodal Officer for the district under the overall supervision of ADC General, Smt. Amaninder Kaur. She stated that these checks will continue in the future to enforce the ban on the sale or use of China Dor.
