Awareness Drive to mobilise voters gets momentum in SAS Nagar

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar : In order to mobilise the young and first-time voters for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024, the District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain has roped in about 4000 volunteers ( minimum five each for a booth) to accompany the Booth Level Officers of 812 polling booths to accelerate drive to sensitise voters and other voter related activities under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation at the ground zero level in the district.
Divulging more details, Professor Gurbakhsish Singh Antal, District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, said that these volunteers have been divided into booth-wise Voter Awareness Groups. The drive is aimed at accelerating the awareness activities to ensure turning up of the maximum number of voters in June 1, 2024. He further said that besides this over 150 students of 56 senior secondary schools and colleges/universities falling in the district have been designated as campus ambassadors who further spread the message of the use of franchises on Poll Day amongst the young and first-time voters in their surroundings.
District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, further added that the training workshop of these awareness groups and campus ambassadors was held in each constituency starting from Derabassi. Today, the last training session was conducted at Kharar where 278 Booth Level Officers and 56 Campus Ambassadors were apprised of the awareness drive.
Tehsildar Kharar Ramandeep Kaur imparted the training to the BLOs and Campus Ambassadors, here. She also briefed them on the importance of the mobile-based Voter Helpline App for the resolution of voter-related queries, C vigil for reporting violations of the Model Code of Conduct and toll-free number 1950 for procuring any election-related information.
Campus Ambassadors, School of Eminence, Kharar, Sharandeep Kaur and Harshdeep Kaur recited poems and songs to convey the message of Voter Awareness. Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Navdeep Chaudhary introduced the Teacher of Government School Kharar, Dilpreet Kaur who enrolled 171 new voters in April month.

ਆਗਾਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਲਈ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਮਬੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ, ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਬੂਥ ਲੈਵਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਪਗ 4000 ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ (ਇੱਕ ਬੂਥ ਲਈ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਪੰਜ-ਪੰਜ) ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਵੋਟਰਜ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਪਾਰਟੀਸੀਪੇਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੋਰ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 812 ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾਉਣਗੇ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ ਗੁਰਬਖ਼ਸੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਅੰਟਾਲ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ, ਸਵੀਪ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੂਥ-ਵਾਰ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ‘ਤੇ 1 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਵਾਲੇ 56 ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ/ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ 150 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ (ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੋ) ਨੂੰ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਅੰਬੈਸਡਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਤ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਚ ਫੈਲਾਉਣਗੇ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ, ਸਵੀਪ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਅੰਬੈਸਡਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ।
ਅੱਜ ਆਖਰੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਖਰੜ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ 278 ਬੂਥ ਲੈਵਲ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ 56 ਕੈਂਪਸ ਅੰਬੈਸਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਖਰੜ ਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਬੀ.ਐਲ.ਓਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਅੰਬੈਸਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਵੋਟਰ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ ਐਪ, ਚੋਣ ਜ਼ਾਬਤੇ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਵਿਜੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਟੋਲ-ਫ੍ਰੀ ਨੰਬਰ 1950 ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਕੈਂਪਸ ਅੰਬੈਸਡਰਜ਼, ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ਼ ਐਮੀਨੈਂਸ, ਖਰੜ, ਸ਼ਰਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਾਏ। ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ, ਸਵੀਪ, ਨਵਦੀਪ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਖਰੜ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾ ਦਿਲਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ 171 ਨਵੇਂ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
