Lok Sabha Elections 2024- Name and address of the printer and publisher on election campaign material is mandatory, DC S.A.S Nagar

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar : In wake of the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mrs. Aashika Jain held a meeting with all the printing press owners of the district and their representatives. During this meeting, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the owners and representatives of the printing presses to ensure that the name and full address of the printer and the publisher are printed on it while printing any kind of election promotional materials, pamphlets or posters during the election campaign.
Apart from this, she also directed that it will be mandatory for those doing the work of making hoardings and flex etc. to get their firms registered. The District Election Officer, while presiding over the meeting, also instructed that before printing any campaign material, a declaration should be taken that by whom and in what number these election materials are being printed.
He also directed to ensure that the information along with the cost of printed campaign material is sent to the office of the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain also directed the printing press owners and said that any printing press that will print election promotional materials will also have to print the name and registration number of their press on banners, flex, posters, pamphlets, and booklets.
She also said that no objectionable material against caste, creed religion etc. will be printed by the printing press. She said the printing press owners/representatives that the owner of the printing press who violate these instructions of the Election Commission can be punished with imprisonment of up to six months or a fine or both under Section 127 (A).
During the meeting Additional Deputy Commissioner Viraj S Tidke, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann, Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar and the owners of various printing presses of the district and their representatives were present.

ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫਸਰ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਚੋਣ ਜ਼ਾਬਤੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ, ਪੈਂਫਲਿਟ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰ ਛਾਪਣ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਸ ਉਪਰ ਛਾਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਤਾ ਛਾਪਣਾ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਕਿ ਹੋਰਡਿੰਗਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਫਲੈਕਸ ਆਦਿ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਰਜਿਸਟਰ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਛਾਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਹ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਚੋਣ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਕਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਪਵਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਛਾਪੀ ਗਈ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਰਚੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਣੀ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ, ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਛਾਪੇਗੀ ਉਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੈਨਰ, ਫ਼ਲੈਕਸ, ਪੋਸਟਰ, ਪੈਂਫਲਿਟ, ਕਿਤਾਬਚੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੰਬਰ ਛਾਪਣਾ ਵੀ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਉਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਤ, ਧਰਮ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ਯੋਗ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਛਾਪੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ/ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਨਾਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ 127 (ਏ) ਤਹਿਤ ਛੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਜਾਂ ਜੁਰਮਾਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਦੋਨੋ ਹੀ ਸਜਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵਿਰਾਜ ਐਸ. ਤਿੜਕੇ, ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ(ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ, ਚੋਣ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੈਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
