Fire Incident at Chanalon- Forensic Teams Collects Samples

S.A.S Nagar : After the fire broke out at a chemical factory in the Chanalon focal point area of Mohali, the district administration today sent forensic Teams to collect the samples from the remains of the debris. Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner, Aashika Jain said that though the fire controlled in the late evening hours but there was still smoke erupting from the debris. SDM (Officiating charge) Kharar, Davy Goyal was sent to the site today to oversee the situation.
She said that a family has reported missing a member and the police are working to trace her. The deputy commissioner said that the situation of the two labourers referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh have been reported as under observation.
She said that a Tehsildar from Kharar Jaswinder Singh was sent to the hospital to check the well being of the both. We are taking care of both having burn injuries 50 percent and 70 percent respectively, she added.
The Magisterial Probe has been marked to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj S Tidke and asked to submit a detailed report in a time bound manner to carry out a detailed fact finding inquiry. She made it clear that further action would be taken based on the outcome of the finding and law would take its own course.
In the wake of the upcoming festive season, she appealed to all commercial industrial offices and other units to ensure all adequate measures within their premises to avoid any untoward incident. Further she issued instructions to all SDMs, MCs to carry out inspections in all vulnerable areas.
