ESI Mohali to get a facelift soon, says DC Aashika Jain

Another ESI to come up at Derabassi,site identified

S.A.S. Nagar : ESI Hospital Mohali will soon get a facelift, assured the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain to the Mohali Industries Association at an interactive session held by the latter, today at MIA office. Similarly, as the tender process for the Derabassi-Barwala road is in the final stage, the work would be started soon, said the Deputy Commissioner.
Divulging details about the various announcements done by the Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann during Sarkar-Sanyatkar Milni held at Mohali, she said that one of the most important demand of the Industrialists regarding setting up of ESI Hospital in Derabassi has been near completion as the site for the proposed 100 bedded hospital has been identified.
Mrs Jain further said that all the announcements made during the Government-Industrialist meet, are being followed up regularly by her at district and state level. She assured that those projects that have been proposed or in the pipeline would be expedited. She said that as the industry is flourishing in the district on a large scale and the government is working day and night to provide all necessary facilities in this regard.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the government is continuously working to improve and strengthen the health sector. Under this, Aam Aadmi clinics have been established on a large scale and hospitals in the district are being renovated. Aam Aadmi Clinics have been equipped with facilities like free medicines and lab tests, which can be availed by industrial workers. Similarly, under Ayushman Bharat Chief Minister Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, efforts are being made to issue cashless cards to provide health treatment up to Rs 5 lakh limit to workers.
The workers can get free treatment facilities in any empaneled government or private hospital, she added. Mrs Jain said that a new initiative is being taken by the Punjab government, under which sector specific councils (advisory committees) are being formed, industrialists will be an important part of these and with their suggestions, trade and industry friendly policies and schemes can be formulated more effectively.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the Mohali Industries Association for conducting this interactive session. On this occasion, Pankaj Vohra, Deputy Director, ESIC said that the problems and shortcomings related to the hospital will be overcome soon and this overcrowded hospital will be expanded further to facilitate the beneficiaries more. Mohali Industries Association President Baljit Singh thanked Deputy Commissioner MrsAshika Jain on this occasion.
Earlier, Jasbir Singh, Chairman Labour Law Committee apprised the DC of the issues related to ESI Hospital besides introducing emergency services here. He also emphasized early reimbursement of medical bills related to ESI. SDM Mohali Chandra Jyoti Singh, GM, DIC Arshjit Singh along with officials from various departments and a large number of industrialists were present during the interactive session.
