District Administration to Facilitate Stubble Management Units for providing stock sites for bales

S.A.S Nagar : District Administration SAS Nagar to provide temporary stock sites to the stubble management units of the district to cope up with the paddy stubble, said the deputy commissioner, Aashika Jain today. While reviewing the arrangements in place for reducing the burning incidents in the district, she said that so far we have got the demand of 87 acres of stock sites at various places from TC Terrytex Ltd, Nachiketa Paper Limited, Windsor Industries Pvt Ltd and YCD Industrial Ltd.
She said the sites would be made available at a very nominal fee so that they could be facilitated in their efforts towards disposing of the stubble through the Ex-Situ process. The deputy commissioner further said that this year the district would complete the number of 20 balers and rakes with the addition of 14 more balers sanctioned this year.
She said that a total of 352 In-Situ and Ex-Situ crop residue management machinery is being provided to the Cooperative societies, Panchayats and Individual farmers at subsidised rates. Out of which 144 sanctions have been issued and 51 purchased. Directing the Sub Divisional Magistrates to be in touch with all the stakeholders who have to buy the CRM Machinery to speed up the purchase process, the deputy commissioner said that we should prioritise the availability of machines in vulnerable areas.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the figure of 352 CRM Machinery also included a number of 184 of surface seeders, recommended by the PAU for in-situ management of paddy stubble. She also exhorted the farmers to not to set crop residue on fire in the interest of environment and use maximum CRM machinery to dispose of the Stubble.
The officers who attended the meeting included SDMs Chandrajyoti Singh Mohali, Himanshu Gupta Derabassi, Davy Goyal Kharar, DDPO Amninder pal Singh Chauhan, DR Gurbir Singh Dhillon, ADO Gurdial Kumar besides baler owners and representative of factories having units equipped with stubble combustible Boilers.
