DC Aashika Jain exhorts farmers and groups to apply for “Surface Seeder Machine” available on subsidy in a big way
DC holds a meeting with the officials regarding the maximum availability of machines to the farmers

S.A.S Nagar : The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is continuously working for providing permanent solution to the pollution caused by the burning of crop residue. Under these efforts, the farmers of the district are to be given Surface Seeder Machines on subsidy.
Divulging details, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain while presiding over the meeting of the officials of various departments, including the Agriculture and farmers welfare Department, at the District Administrative Complex to ensure availability of machines said that the earlier date of submission of online applications for the machines was 18 August 2023.
Now the purchase of surface seeder machines have been included in the list of stubble management machinery by the Punjab Government at 50 percent subsidy to individual farmers and 80 percent subsidy to cooperative societies/panchayats/FPOs/farmers groups. This newly introduced Machine can be operated with small power tractors as compared to earlier Happy Seeder, Super Seeder, Smart Seeder etc.
That were big horse power tractor driven machines. With this machine, 16 acres of wheat can be sown per day at the rate of sowing two acres per hour. Applications have been invited from farmers for the purchase of this machine till 10th September 2023.
So interested farmers can apply through online applications on the site agrimachinerypb.com till 10th September 2023. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officials that the farmers should be made more aware and that they should apply and take advantage of this machinery.
The Deputy Commissioner said that Deputy Registrar Cooperatives should ensure that the member farmers of Cooperative societies are also made aware to use this machine properly. The Deputy Commissioner also directed to ensure registration of the maximum number of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in the district. The Deputy Commissioner also took suggestions from the farmers on this occasion and also gave an assurance of implementation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Geetika Singh, SDM Kharar Ravinder Singh, SDM Derabassi Himanshu Gupta, SDM Mohali Chandra Jyoti Singh, officials from various departments including Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Gurmail Singh, Agriculture Development Officer Gurdayal Kumar were present in the meeting.
