DC Aashika Jain Asks The Officials To Create Awareness About The Facilities And Opportunities Available For Entrepreneurs And Exporters

Interactive session on “Capacity Building For Export Businesses" at STPI

S.A.S Nagar : “Industrial growth is our priority and we are leaving no stone unturned to provide each and every facility available to our entrepreneurs and exporters.” This was stated by Mrs. Aashika Jain, Deputy Commissioner, here at Software Technology Park of India (STPI) during the
interactive session on “Capacity Building For Export Businesses” organised by district level export promotion committee.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the last meeting of this committee, which was held at District Administrative Complex (DAC), the decision was taken to make this institution more active. District administration was working tirelessly to create awareness among exporters and entrepreneurs of the district regarding the programs being run by Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and Ministry of Trade, Govt. of India. This session has been organized in pursuance of that aim also.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the major positive sign was that the participation was rising continuously and hopefully it would rise further in the future. Lack of awareness was acting as a hindrance in the growth story of SAS Nagar.
District administration would organize such gatherings more often and would ensure that the entrepreneurs would avail the maximum benefit of the facilities and schemes available. District administration was always available to facilitate the entrepreneurs in every manner which would further help to boost the economy of our state and nation.
While sharing her experience the Deputy Commissioner said, ‘Recently I was at T- Hub which is a startup ecosystem started by the Telangana govt. at Hyderabad. Entrepreneurs over there were very proud of STPI functioning in that state.
We also felt proud that we also have a STPI at Mohali, which offers similar facilities like incubation centers and co-working spaces.’ The Deputy Commissioner further disclosed that there were many entrepreneurs at T- Hub who had come back from western world and they claim that real growth opportunities were available in India.
There were various problems that needed to be solved in the emerging economy and in every solution, there was a business idea and opportunity. Punjab Government was providing various platforms for the industrial growth which includes Business First Portal and Invest Punjab.
The Deputy Commissioner said that if any entrepreneur or any exporter faces any issue regarding any clearance or any kind issue then they must raise it and the administration would solve it on priority. She urged the participants to share their feedback which would further enlarge the scope of the meeting.
She said that the Pharma and IT industry was growing in the district and all the steps would be taken to boost the growth. This session was organised in association with Director General of Foreign Trade (Govt. of India) and Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO).
The session commenced with an informative session on New Industrial and Business Development Policy-2022 (Punjab) by Arshjit Singh, General Manager, District Industries Centre, S.A.S Nagar. After this, the role of FIEO in flourishing export industry was explained by Mr. Vinay Sharma, Deputy Director, FIEO.
Shri Nitin Kashyap explained the working and importance of “Niryat Kendra” under the aegis of India Post. The participants were also apprised about Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited and its role in risk free export business by Bijaya Shankar Sahu, Branch Manager, ECGC Ltd.
Chirag Kumar, Relationship Manager, SBI elaborated on the role of banking institutions in export promotion throughout the state. As per the demand from the industry, Sandeep Rajoriya, ITS, Assistant Director, DGFT, Govt. of India held a very informative and practical session about trade maps, import-export code and Indian Trade Portal.
Utpal Kumar Acharya, ITS, Joint- Director, DGFT, GOI, said that Government of India is holding hands of the MSME (Exporters) with various kinds of incentivised schemes. He promised to organize such meetings all around the district including Derabassi for wholesome support to the industrial units.
Ajay Srivastava, Director, Software Technology Park of India (STPI), Mohali welcomed the industrialists to use their incubation centres and achieve a positive outcome.
