Says! First time in history, the budget session will be the longest

Moga : The Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr Kultar Singh Sandhwan has expressed his commitment that issues related to the people will continue to be given top priority in the Vidhan Sabha. He was here to attend various social and religious functions today. Talking to reporters here, he said that it would be the first time in history that the budget session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha would be the longest. Earlier this session was for one or two days but now it will be for at least ten days.

He said that any budget would make a huge difference to the economy and lifestyle of the people. People’s aspirations are linked to the budget. Which need to be discussed openly. That is why this time the Punjab government has sought the opinion of the people to prepare the budget as per the wishes of the people. Regarding the upliftment of the Punjabi language, Mr Sandhwan said that the Punjabi language would always be given importance in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

Work is being done to make our mother tongue Punjabi the language of employment.Every effort is being made by the Punjab Government to replenish the state exchequer. Asked about the fulfilment of election promises, he said that the promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party to the people of Punjab would be fulfilled on the same lines as the promises made in Delhi.He said that there should be no doubt about the intention of the government to eradicate the VIP culture among influential people and some jail inmates.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is determined that this culture will be eradicated soon. The Punjab government will now make the jails a real reformatory, where the offenders will have to pay the real penalty for their crimes. Addressing a religious function, Mr Sandhwan said that we should be proud of the immense sacrifice of our rich heritage, Jassa Singh Ramgarhia and other Sikh heroes. Addressing a social function, Mr Sandhwan said that Non-Government Organisations made a huge contribution.

He appealed to the organizations to continue their contribution with a sense of social responsibility. Meanwhile, he visited the house of renowned veteran journalist Amar Singh Dhiman and expressed his grief over the demise of his wife Amarjit Kaur.Among others are Mr Manjit Singh Bilaspur MLA, Mrs Amandeep Kaur Arora MLA, Mr Davinderjit Singh Laddi Dhons MLA, Mrs Jivanjot Kaur MLA, Mr Naresh Kataria MLA, Mr Kulwant Singh Deputy Commissioner, Mr Gulneet Singh Khurana Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr Krishan Sood, Mr Gyan Singh former DPRO and many other eminent personalities were also present.
