On The Instructions Of Punjab Government, Deed Writers Start Putting Fee Boards Outside Booths

Step Aimed At Ensuring Transparency And To Facilitate People : Bram Shankar Jimpa

Chandigarh : Following instructions of Punjab Government for putting boards outside the booths of deed writers with fee details of different revenue works, the boards are started getting displayed, which will further apprise the people about the fee for revenue works.

Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister, Mr. Bram Shankar Jimpa had given directions in this regard a few days ago for the facilitation of general public visiting in tehsils and sub tehsils for getting their sale deed and agreements etc. done. Mr. Jimpa said that the Bhagwant Maan government has taken this decision to bring transparency in the thesils.

He expressed satisfaction over the progress of the installation of boards and hoped that all the deed writers will ensure the display of said boards outside their booths.Regarding e-stamping and e-registration, the Revenue Minister said that the stamp duty has been made fully cashless at the time of registration of deed.

E-stamps can be obtained from service centers and authorized banks of the Stock Holding Corporation without any commission. For these only the amount equivalent to e-stamp paper will be charged, he added. Mr. Jimpa said that various fees has been fixed for writing deed.

In case the value of the property or actual transaction value is recorded, the fee for writing will be Rs500. Similarly, Rs. 200 has been fixed for amendment of power of attorney, agreement, and etc. A fee of Rs 100 has been fixed for writing a will in case there is no transaction of property, Rs 50 for a transfer or non-transaction will and Rs 25 for any other will.

Instructions are also been given to write the details regarding the fees charges on the boards outside the booths. Apart from this, women have two percent discount in stamp duty.
