Lists Major Achievements Of Aap Government In Five Months

Jalandhar : Punjab Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar on Monday hoisted the National Flag here at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium saying that the Aam Aadmi Government would fulfill all promises made with the people in due course of time as it has already take several historic decisions in just five months time.

Accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh & Commissioner of Police Gursharan Singh Sandhu, the Minister after hoisting the Tricolour inspected the parade and took a salute.

Dr. Nijjar said that great martyrs and freedom fighters including Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev, Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha, Madan Lal Dhingra, Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Udham Singh made unparalleled sacrifices for the sake of independence.

It is also a matter of great pride that maximum sacrifices during independence struggle were of Punjabis, who were always frontrunners in safeguarding the interests of country.

Listing major achievements of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Aam Aadmi Government in Punjab, the Minister pointed out in a short span of time five months, the State Government has taken number of historic decision including ‘one MLA, one pension’.

He said that the ‘Anti-corruption Action Line’ started by the AAP Government was a landmark decision to check corrupt practices. The decision to convert Government Schools into ‘School of Eminence’ will also be a major reform in education as well as overall development of students, said the Minister.

He added that the Aam Aadmi Party’s Government would setup new 19 industrial training institutes to make skilled youngsters self-employed by introducing their own ventures. He said the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hariawal campaign should also be encouraged under which 50,000 saplings would be planted in each constituency across the state.

Announcing that 25000 houses will be constructed for weaker sections, Dr. Nijjar stated these houses would improve living standards of poverty stricken families. The Minister said recruitment process has already been initiated to fill 26000 vacant posts.

Dr. Nijjar also solicited sincere cooperation from people to save natural resources especially ground water table by giving a fillip to efforts of Government to contain depleting water table. He said that State Government had given subsidy on cultivation of moong besides providing Rs. 1500 per acre subsidy on direct sowing.

The home delivery of wheat flour is also being started, which will provide benefit of the scheme to 1.58 crore beneficiaries.In another announcement to further promote sports activities across Punjab, the Minister said that the State Government would kickstart ‘Rural Sports Melas’ from August 29 to tab sports potential amongst the budding players.

Dr. Nijjar pointed out that the free 600 electricity units to domestic consumers would provide a major succour these families with getting bill of ‘zero amount’ in September this.

The plying of buses from across Punjab to Delhi Airport is also a significant achievement of Bhagwant Mann led Government as this service would be immensely beneficial for the Punjabis and Punjabi Diaspora.

The action against illegal encroachers of Panchayati lands is also being welcomed and appreciated by the people, said the Minister Government would strengthen the infrastructure in rural areas to ensure better amenities.

The Minister also announced that Punjab Government would setup Punjab Fire & Emergency Services Training in Lalru on 20 acres to further secure job opportunities for the youngsters.

Dr. Nijjar congratulated the people on the occasion of 76th Independence Day by wishing prosperous future of students and further progress of state in time to come.

Meanwhile, after the function the Minister also went to Rajan Colony to get Aam Aadmi Clinic started.Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included MLAs Balkar Singh, Sheetal Angural and Raman Arora, Divisional Commissioner Gurpreet Sapra, ADGP Arpit Shukla, SSP (Rural) Swarandeep Singh and senior officials of civil and police administration.
