Kapurthala : With a view to curb the spread of the epidemic in Kapurthala district by imposing restrictions on the ground level in view of the second covid wave , Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal and SSP Kapurthala Mrs. Kanwardeep Kaur IPS today Visited the kapurthala city.Both the officers along with other senior civil and police officials visited the city’s crowded markets, Sadar Bazaar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Old and New sabzi mandi.They said that as per the orders of the Punjab government, a lockdown has been imposed to protect the people from the epidemic, during which arrangements have been made to keep the essential services running smoothly so that the people must cooperate with the police and civil administration in the hour of crisis.SSP kapurthala said that farmers, artiyas , shopkeepers and buyers should wear masks, keep a distance and ensure the use of sanitizer.She said that more than 20 challans were issued by Kapurthala police against shopkeepers and others violating the covid rules on the spot.She made it clear that under the prescribed rules, the traders would not be allowed to face any inconvenience while those who spread the epidemic by violating the rules would be dealt with severely.The teams of the health department conducted RT PCR test of shopkeepers .On this occasion, SDM Kapurthala Mr. Virender Pal Singh Bajwa, DSP Surinder singh and other officials were present.
