Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Monday visited all three session sites set up at HMV, KMV, and Layallpur Khalsa College under a pilot project aimed at providing affordable vaccination facilities in the city. The DC inspected the functioning of these sites and interacted with the people visiting the place to receive jabs of Covaxine. Divulging the details, the deputy commissioner said that the district relief society had procured one thousand doses of Covaxin, which were administered to beneficiaries on pre-booking. He said that the project has seen an overwhelming response as all the vaccine slots were booked just within an hour of its opening. He further added that the administration has added 5000 more slots from Monday itself and these would also be booked online. He added that anyone above the age of 18 can book his slot by visiting the website www.citywoofer.com/event/vaccination-drive. Mr. Thori also added the vaccination is being provided at a nominal rate of Rs. 500 plus taxes, however, the same vaccine in the private hospital costs more than double of the price being offered here. He also announced that more vaccine slots would be created in the coming days as the administration was in the process of procuring more doses under this project. He also interacted with the beneficiaries coming here to take vaccine shots, who expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration here.
