Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today flagged off second phase of awareness campaign to make people aware about the preventions for checking the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic under ‘Mission Fateh’.The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Estate Officer of PUDA Ms. Navneet Kaur Bal, flagged off the vehicles from the circuit house as a part of this campaign, which was launched by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on June 1.He said that under the second phase of campaign, these vehicles would disseminate information to people by moving in villages and cities across the district. Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today flagged off second phase of awareness campaign to make people aware about the preventions for checking the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic under ‘Mission Fateh’.The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Estate Officer of PUDA Ms. Navneet Kaur Bal, flagged off the vehicles from the circuit house as a part of this campaign, which was launched by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on June 1.He said that under the second phase of campaign, these vehicles would disseminate information to people by moving in villages and cities across the district. Mr. Thori said that during this campaign major thrust would be on generating maximum information regarding the threat and precautions from Corona Virus as it was the only way to keep this pandemic at bay.Deputy Commissioner said that as a part of the massive campaign earlier this week, Corona Warriors were honoured by the district administration and on June 16 and June 17, door to door sensitization by Anganwari workers and sarpanches was organised.
Ghanshyam Thori told that on June 19, door to door sensitization campaign would be done by the NGOs and on June 20, door to door sensitization drive would be initiated by the Police department.The Deputy Commissioner also said that on June 21st sensitization drive would be started by the Resident Welfare committees and other citizens. Soliciting fulsome support and cooperation from the people for this noble cause, he said that the war against Corona could be won by making the norm of social distancing an integral part of their lives. Mr. Thori asked the people to stay at their homes, wear masks while moving in public, wash their hands with soaps/ use sanitizer and others.The Deputy Commissioner especially thanked owner of KCSAD lights Mr Rajiv Gupta for their support in this endeavour. He said that Mr Gupta has provided specially designed awareness vehicle fitted with audio equipments to disseminate information for this noble cause.On the occasion District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal, Mr Jagdish Kumar, Mr Ashok Sahota Mr Darshan Singh and others were also present.
