Hoshiarpur Police solves three bank dacoity cases by busting gang of bank robbers

Hoshiarpur : In a major breakthrough the Hoshiarpur Police has solved three cases of bank dacoities by busting a gang of bank robbers and arresting three dreaded criminals with three country made pistols along with one 12 bore rifle snatched from security guard of UCO Bank Kalra Branch, Adampur.Divulging the details, the Senior Superintendent of Police Hoshiarpur Mr Navjot Singh Mahal said that Hoshiarpur Police successfully cracked and nabbed the gang behind the robberies at Indian Overseas Bank, Gilzian Branch PS Tanda, Hoshiarpur and Punjab and Sindh Bank Branch Village Bhagowal PS Sadar Hoshiarpur and other nearby areas. He said that a huge recovery of three country made pistols of 315 bore with eight live cartridges, one Scooty Maestro, one Motor Cycle, Currency worth Rs 30,000/- and one 12 bore rifle snatched from security guard of UCO Bank Kalra Branch, Adampur during dacoity has also been made. Mr Mahal said that for tracing the culprits behind these bank dacoities at Gilzian PS Tanda and Bhagowal PS Sadar and other nearby areas, six teams of District Police were constituted.The Senior Superintendent of Police said that these teams carried out their investigations under a well chalked out plan in an utmost professional, technical and skilful manner.
He said that CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity were checked thoroughly and record of history sheeters and even of those who have been bailed out, was checked. Mr Mahal said that the assistance of secret informers, District police team achieved huge success with the arrest of Sunil Dutt @ Sunny S/o Baldev R/o Ghugiaal, Sukhwinder Singh @ Sukha S/o Sohan Singh , Balwinder Singh @ Sonu S/o Swaran Singh R/o Kothe Prem Nagar PS Hariana on 19.10.2020 at about 11pm from Village Khakli PS Hariana thereby busting gang of criminals involved in these bank dacoities.The Senior Superintendent of Police said that a FIR 154 Dated 19.10.2020 U/S 392,394,395 IPC and 25/27/54/59 Arms Act PS Hariana was registered against them adding that Investigation is underway and raids are being conducted for arrest of their other aides including Satpal Singh @ Satta S/O Tarsem Lal R/o Hariana and Gurwinder Singh @ Ginda S/O Manjit Singh R/o Ludiyani PS Dasuya. Mr Mahal said that during investigation it has been found that these accused have a criminal background and many cases are already registered against them. These accused committed bank dacoity at Village Gilzian PS Tanda on 27.7.2020, at Village Bhagowal PS Sadar, Hoshiarpur on 4.9.2020 and at Village Kalra PS Adampur, Jalandhar on 15.10.2020. He said that The Maestro Scooty and one motorcycle Splendor used during dacoity have been recovered.Mr Mahal said that Investigation has also brought into light that these accused were planning and preparing on committing another bank robbery at Bhaini Mia Kha PS Kahnuwaan, District Gurdaspur. He said that recovered scooty was purchased by Satnam Singh @ Satta and its RC was forged in the name of some other person in a hideous way so that police could not trace the culprits.
