He said that the work would start shortly and very soon, the Budha Nullah would present a neat and clean look with clean water and beautification of embankments.Mr Ashu said this during the public interaction organised regarding this project at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, here today.This interaction was also attended by Namdhari Sect head Satguru Uday Singh, MLAs Mr Rakesh Pandey and Mr Sanjay Talwar, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, several MC Councillors, Principal Secretary Local Government Mr AK Sinha, CEO PMIDC Mr Ajoy Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, MC Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, senior congress leaders Mr Kamaljit Singh Karwal and Mrs Satwinder Kaur Bitti, besides several others.While speaking on the occasion, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that cleaning of around 14-kilometer long stretch of Budha Nullah is one of the foremost projects in his priority. He said that this project would start soon and once it starts, no person would be allowed to pollute the Budha Nullah. He informed that he, along with Ludhiana MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu and others have also held a meeting in this regard with the Union Jal Shakti Minister.He assured the residents that the work related to Rs 650-crore Budha Nullah rejuvenation project would be carried out in a transparent manner and not even a single penny of the public funds to be used for this project would not be misused at any cost.
He thanked Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for taking special interest in this project and requesting Satguru Uday Singh to lead the task force set up for this project.On this occasion, PMIDC CEO Mr Ajoy Sharma gave a detailed presentation regarding this project and also answered queries of residents, NGOs, industrialists etc regarding this project. He also assured that if any person has any suggestion regarding this project, they can submit them in writing with the department and they would be incorporated. He said that this project has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of next 10 years.During the interactive session, several industrialists, NGOs and residents gave their valuable suggestions for proper implementation of this project, and also appreciated the dedicated and transparent efforts of Punjab government in this regard. Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu assured that all the valuable suggestions given by the stakeholders would be incorporated in the project.Satguru Uday Singh also appreciated the Punjab government for starting this project. He said that it is for the first time that such a public interaction regarding a development project has been organised, which shows the government commitment of carrying out this project in a transparent manner. He assured all possible help for this project.Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu urged the residents living along the Budha Nullah not to pollute it in the interest of humanity. He said that iron mesh along the Nullah is also being installed to check that no one disposes solid waste into it.Others who appreciated the Punjab government for this project included Mr Upkar S Ahuja, President, CICU, Mr Ashok Makkar, president, Ludhiana Dying Industries, Akali Councillor Mr Harbhajan Singh Dang, ex BJP councillor Mr Inder Aggarwal, besides several others.
