Bharat Bhushan Ashu Honours Class 12th State Topper Gurveen Kaur
Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu today honoured Miss Gurveen Kaur, a student of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, who has scored 99.8% in humanities in Class 12. She scored a perfect hundred in four subjects- English, Political Science, Geography, Hindustani Music and 99 marks in economics.Mr Ashu said that it is a matter of great pride that Gurveen has topped the state with 99.8% marks, He said that he himself is father of a daughter and it gives him immense pleasure when he sees our daughters winning accolades and making their families proud.Miss Gurveen’s father is a lawyer and mother is a dietician and aims to join the judiciary. “I wish to become a judge and serve the society,” she said. She said that people need to change their mindset towards humanities as this stream has a lot of scope and offers subjects through which we can gain knowledge.MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed to promote girl children and that is why, they have started several initiatives in this regard.
