10 girl trainees of Sewing Technology and Surface Ornamentation Techniques trade of Government Industrial Training Institute (w), Mohali at Phase 5 have been selected for the job during the campus interview and given an annual package of Rs. 1.5 lakh by the company.In a written statement issued to the media by the organization, the District Nodal Officer and Principal of ITI(w) Mohali Shamsher Purkhalvi said that the local Messrs. Virsa Clothing Company has selected 10 girls who have been given letters of appointment for regular employment after one month of practical training. He said that besides the salary, the company has also agreed to provide many other facilities to the newly selected girls. Mr. Purkhalvi said that handicraft education has an important role to play in the present times by which all the challenges faced can be easily tackled.

He appealed to the parents to provide vocational education to their daughters for building a better future so that they could become self reliant as well as support their families.The girl trainees selected by the company expressed their happiness and special thanks to the officials of the institute and the officials of department for their efforts in enabling them to earn a living today. Instructors Mr. Varinderpal Singh Khalsa, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Mrs. Amritbir Kaur Hundal, Mrs. Jasvir Kaur Saini, Mrs. Rajni Banga, Apprentice Amandeep Kaur, Anjali Kumari, Jaspreet Kaur, Shivani and Rajwinder Kaur among others were present on this occasion.
