Modi government destroying Constitution, weakening the democratic foundation of the country : Raghav Chadha

Whatever opposition party challenges BJP, they send CBI-ED in their house- Raghav Chadha

Chandigarh : The Rajya Sabha MP of the Aam Aadmi Party Raghav Chadha attacked the BJP-led government and said that the Modi government is constantly trying to shake the democratic foundation of the country by misusing government agencies. Whatever opposition parties see strong to the BJP, they send CBI-ED teams and puts their leaders in jail.

He said that today nine prominent personalities of the country have written a letter to the Prime Minister against the ED and CBI raids. Among those who wrote the letter are the four incumbent Chief Ministers, one Deputy Chief Minister and four former Chief Ministers of the different states.

Raghav Chadha said that all the opposition leaders of the country are very concerned about the arrest of Manish Sisodia. That is why all the leaders wrote this letter to the Prime Minister together and appealed not to misuse government agencies and not to debilitate the country’s democracy .

He said that by misusing government agencies, the Modi government is trying to end the opposition of the country. Under the conspiracy, CBI -ED is being raided only on the leaders of opposition parties. Today, the way the government agencies are taking action in a partisan manner, the democracy of the country is in danger.

Questioning the action of CBI-ED, he said that in all the cases filed by the CBI since 2014 till now, only 95% were against the leaders of opposition parties. During the UPA rule, the ED raided only 112 places.

But during the Modi government, the ED raided more than 3000 places. Recently, an information came out in which it was revealed that in all the cases filed by the ED, the conviction rate is only 0.05%. Meaning almost cases in the court proved to be fake.

He also pointed out on the intervention of the Governor in the states ruled by the opposition parties and said that the central government is interfering in the day-to-day functioning of the state government through the Governor. This is a wrong sign for democracy.
