Krishna Pran Trust organises free medical checkup and breast cancer screening camp

 

Ludhiana : Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana Surabhi Malik has lauded Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Care Charitable Trust being run by its Founder Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) for creating mass awareness against breast cancer by holding awareness camps on regular basis. The deputy commissioner was addressing at a free medical checkup and breast cancer screening camp organised by Trust in Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan here on Monday.

She asked every woman to get herself examined atleast once in a year for early detection of breast cancer, if any. She said many human lives could be saved if the disease is detected at an early stage. She said breast cancer should be treated like any other disease and no one should ever try to hide the decease. Speaking on the occasion, Arora thanked the deputy commissioner and her team members for extending full support in successfully organising the today’s event.

He said self-detection examination is the only way to minimise deaths due to the breast cancer. He added with this method the percentage of breast cancer survivors could be increased to 90 percent from 50 percent. He said the symptoms of breast cancer should never be overrated or under-estimated. Arora remembered his parents who died of cancer. He said had they were diagnosed at an early stage their lives could have been saved.

He said Trust has also created two short films namely “Revind” and “Meri Dastan” for creating mass awareness against breast cancers. Both these short films have been viewed by millions of people. These films have also been liked and retweeted by many noted celebrities from Bollyood, political and other fields. Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMCH, Ludhiana lauded selfless services being rendered by Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Care Charitable Trust for the suffering humanity.

He said Trust has adopted more than 250 cancer patients so far, and this process is still on, adding that Arora who is also Vice President of DMCH Managing Society has been doing a lot in the field of healthcare. He said even today Arora had asked him that the charges of DMCH should not been increased and efforts should be made to ensure affordable healthcare. Dr Sandeep Puri and other doctors from DMCH namely Dr Suman Puri and Dr GS Brar created awareness against breast cancer.

They categorically stated that people should not fear from Cancer rather they should fight against it. They further stated that there have occurred revolutionary changes in the last two decades because there are now much better chemotherapies and surgeries for treating all types of cancers, breast cancers.  They said mass awareness against breast cancer can lead it to complete elimination from the country in the future.

The short film “Meri Dastan” was also screened during the event, which was largely attended by women, including school girls, Anganwari workers, social activists and others. Sagar Setia, Chief Administrator, GLADA, Sandeep Rishi, Municipal Commissioner, Ludhiana and many other administrative officers were present on the occasion. The event was sponsored by Femmella and Hampton Homes. The women who participated in the event were seen enthused to get themselves examined by team of doctors from DMCH, Ludhiana. A question and answer session was also organised, in which medical experts answered to the queries of the women attending the event. Many doubts about breast cancer were clarified by doctors during this session.
