Bhagwant Mann Government is committed to realise the Dreams of the Freedom Fighters

S.A.S Nagar : Punjab Minister for Employment Genaration, New and Renewable Energy Sources, Administrative Reforms and Grievaces, Printing and Stationery Departments, Aman Arora, today hoisted the National flag to mark the 77th Independence Day at Major (Shaheed) Harminder Pal Singh Government College, Mohali.
He said that Independence Day inspires us to follow the footprints of the great freedom fighters of the country. “It is a matter of pride for us that in the great war for the freedom of the country, if anyone sacrificed the most, it was the Punjabis.
If we talk about Bhagat Singh, Rajguru Sukhdev, Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Udham Singh Sunam, there are thousands of such examples where the people born in Punjab sacrificed their lives,” he added. He said that last year on 16 March 2022 when Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took oath from the holy ancestral village Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan, instead of Raj Bhavan or anywhere else, it conveyed the message to the Punjabis that the Bhagwnat Mann Government respects the martyrs and freedom fighters as much.
“The Bhagwant Mann government has taken a big decision that photographs of the martyrs and freedom fighters of that district will be displayed in every district and prominent parks of Punjab so that the future generation can know what great legacy they are inheritors, after a long struggle freedom has been achieved,”, said Aman Arora.
He said that when an armed force or soldier of Punjab dies for the Nation, the honorarium given to his family by the Punjab government has been increased to one crore rupees, apart from taking a decision to give an ex-gratia grant of 25 lakhs to the family in case of death while on duty in the armed forces, the ex-gratia grant given in case of disability has also been doubled.
Reiterating commitments on Education, Health, Employment, Honesty and Integrity of Bhagwant Mann Government, the Minister said that nearly 400 politicians, officers, employees, and other big fishes were arrested to end corruption in state. About 11,500 acres of government land has been vacated from the illegal possession of prominent persons.
As many as 660 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened that facilitate approximate 44 lakh common people with free check up, medicines and lab tests. To strengthen school education in the state, a total of 117 Schools of Eminence are in progress besides training of Principals and School heads from Singapore and IIM Ahmadabad.
Free Coaching centers for UPSC competitive exams are also being set up in the state. He said that restoring the lost hope of getting jobs on merit in Punjab, the Bhagwant Mann government has given more than 31 thousand jobs on merit in one and a half years.
12710 teachers have been regularised with salary enhancement. Every year 2100 posts from constable to sub-inspector will be recruited in the police department so that the youth of Punjab can serve the people of Punjab by keeping away from drugs.
Free Electricity upto 300 per units to every house hold has rekindled a hope among the people that Bhgawant Mann Government is pro people. The re-operation of ‘Pachhwara Coal Mine’ which was closed for the last seven years will bring an annual benefit of 700 crores to Punjab, he added.
He said that an environment of comprehensive development is going on in Punjab. Good governance is that which provides facilities to the people at their door steps without making them suffer and we are going to start ‘door step delivery’ of government services through the Department of Administrative Reforms, soon.
Similarly, the process of issuing digitally signed certificates started 10 months ago has so far provided services to 28 lakh people through their mobiles. Keeping the hope of Guru Sahib’s message of saving the environment, ‘Pavan Guru Pani Pita, Mata Dhart Mahatt’, one and a half million trees have been planted in the last one year.
Similarly, 47 compressed biomass plants with a capacity of 552.58 tonnes per day have been allotted to deal with the problem of stubble burning in Punjab through its department of new and renewable energy sources which will consume 1.85 million tonnes of paddy straw every year. Four of these plants have been commissioned.
He said that in the near future, the green hydrogen policy, which the world is working on, will be made and implemented in Punjab, with which two crore tons of stubble, which is burnt every year, will be consumed as another form of energy and it will become a source of income.
He said that the admission process of 100 MBBS seats is going on in the third year in the medical college of Mohali after the acceptance of the major demand of Mohali district which MLA Kulwant Singh had placed with the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. To control the traffic problem and run transport means smoothly, the gift of ‘City Shuttle Bus Service’ is going to be given to Mohali by the Government as a pilot project, soon.
He said that the days reminds us to follow the footprints of the the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for us and fulfill their dreams. Eralier, the Minister escorted by the DC Aashika Jain and SSP Dr Sandeep Garg inspected the parade at the stadium and took salute from the march past led by DSP Priya Khera.
Tableaus by the Health Department on dengue awareness, Saanjh Kendra Services, To manage Paddy Stubble without burning, Forest and Wildlife Department, Verka Dairy Mohali, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise attracted the attention of the audience present there.
A Cycle rally taken out by sports department and bike stunt by Amaninder Singh was also the part of the gala I day Function. Wife of freedom fighter Late Natha Singh of Landra, Mrs Surjit Kaur who was present there, was congratulated and honored by the cabinet minister by personally visiting her.
Students of National Public School Kurali, Jam Public School Mohali, Ryan Public School Mohali, Government Model Senior Secondary School 3B1, Shivalik Public School Mohali, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Sohana, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Kurali and Government College Mohali and NCC platoons participated in cultural performances and marchpast.
A total of 74 personalities, social workers, teachers, students, sportspersons and employees who have achieved distinctions in various fields were honored by giving certificates. At the end, the chief guest Aman Arora was felicitated by the district administration.
MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh, Commissioner of Rupnagar Division Indu Malhotra, IG Rupnagar Range Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board Chairman Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, Milkfed Punjab Chairman Narinder Singh Shergill, District Planning Committee Chairperson Prabhjot Kaur and all the officials of the district, school children were also present in large numbers at the event.
