Cabinet Minister reviews the development works and welfare schemes in Moga

Moga : Harbhajan Singh ETO Cabinet Minister for Power and Public Works Departments (PWD) held a review meeting for development works in district Moga here today.
Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora MLA Moga, Mr Manjit Singh Bilaspur MLA Nihal Singh Wala, Mr Amritpal Singh Sukhanand MLA Baghapurana, Mr Davinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhons MLA Dharamkot, Mr Harmandeep Singh Chairman District Planning Board, Mr Deepak Arora Chairman Improvement Trust Moga, Mr Kulwant Singh Deputy Commissioner, Mr J Elenchezian Senior Superintendent of Police Moga and other senior officials among others were present in the meeting.
While talking to media persons, he said that the Punjab government was committed to providing an uninterrupted 24×7 power supply to the people of Punjab during the summer season and uninterrupted 8 hrs daily to the farmers.
Available Transmission Capacity (ATC limit) has been enhanced from 7100 MW to 9000 MW to import more power from outside the state. PSPCL met the all-time highest demand of 15325 MW on 23rd June 2023. No power cuts have been imposed on any category besides providing an 8-hour daily uninterrupted power supply to agriculture feeders.
Mr Harbhajan Singh said that the government has taken several measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply, including the infrastructure upgradation works of Substations & Lines after last year’s Paddy season 2022.
The power minister informed that currently, PSPCL has sufficient stock of material, with 700 Nos. 63 kVA Transformers and 1400 Nos. 100 kVA Transformers are in stock at PSPCL stores while another lot of 2500 Nos. 63 kVA
Transformers and 2500 Nos. 100 kVA Transformers will reach the stores by August end. He further informed that while reviewing the position of agriculture supply in Moga, two nos. Vacuum circuit breakers were allocated to the Moga division for the commissioning of two new agriculture feeders at the earliest.
Further, he appreciated the efforts of the PSPCL workforce made for restoring the supply affected due to heavy storms in June this year and recent floods which caused severe loss to the PSPCL infrastructure.
While taking stock of development works in district Moga.
He instructed the officials to keep elected representatives in the loop to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of development projects. He said that the Punjab government led by Mr Bhagwant Singh Maan was working for the comprehensive development of the state which was not possible without the involvement of the MLAs.
He said that development works must be completed in a timeline manner. Deadlines for the completion of work must be adhered to. Contractors who are not completing the works within the stipulated time should be blacklisted without any delay.
While appreciating the performance of Aam Aadmi Clinics, he instructed the Civil Surgeon to make people take full benefit of this initiative. Civil Surgeon was also instructed to hold eye check-up camps at various locations so that eye flu couldn’t be spread in the masses.
He assured that differences between various rates of government and private hospitals will not be tolerated. Civil Surgeon will personally cross-check the rates of private hospitals and initiate the appropriate against the concerned authorities.
He promised to take up the matter with the health minister to set up Sub Divisional Hospital in Dharmkot constituency. He said that vacant posts of Executive Officers (EOs) in district Moga would be filled soon.
