Next year Subsidy of 3133 crore will be given to industries in Punjab : Harbhajan Singh E.T.O
PHD Chamber organized Exporter’s Conclave

Amritsar : Punjab Public works and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O has said that the Punjab government is committed to providing cheap electricity to the industrialists of the state. For this, not only many schemes have been launched but also industrialists are being provided a better environment for doing business in Punjab.
Harbhajan Singh was addressing the Exporter’s Conclave organized during the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry 17th PITEX here today. He said that the Punjab Government has provided subsidy of Rs 2910 crore to the industries during the current financial year. Apart from this, a amount of 100 crore has been disbursed to about 132 units as incentive of reimbursement of net SGST, stamp duty and employment generation etcetera.
He said that a budget of Rs 258 crore has been provisioned for the year 2020-24, which includes Rs 3133 crore for power Tariff subsidy and Rs 75 crore for incentives. He said that in order to prioritize and streamline the services for the industrial sector, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has set up a dedicated cell, Industrial Facilitation Cell (IFC) has been initiated which will be monitored by the office of the Chairman cum Managing Director of PSPCL.
The objective of this initiative is to immediately resolve issues related to release of new connections to industrialists, increase in load and other power related matters. Earlier, welcoming the E.T.O on its arrival here, RS Sachdeva Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Punjab Chapter said that the main objective of this event is to bring together the industrialists and the government of Punjab on one platform so that they can easily export their products to foreign countries can deliver it properly.
During the program, Additional DGFT Utpal Kumar Acharya, ECGC Senior Manager Bal Mukand, SIDBI DGM TMH Samad, PHDCCI Punjab Chapter Co-Chair Sanjeev Singh Sethi, Amritsar industrialists Ashok Sethi, Ashwani Kumar, Ajay Mahajan and many dignitaries were present during the program.
