Be the brand ambassador of state for emerging it as an industrial hub across the globe: CM exhorts local industrialists

Asks them not to go anywhere and rather focus on expanding their business here to serve their motherland

S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today gave a clarion call to the local industry for becoming the brand ambassador of state for emerging it as an industrial hub across the globe.

Interacting with the local industrialists during Invest Punjab session here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government has provided the most Conducive environment to the industry in the state.

He said that the local industry has been immensely benefitted by it and they should further help the state to attract investments by becoming its brand ambassadors. Bhagwant Mann said that a Punjabi is a born entrepreneur and everyone of us must make efforts to put state on high orbit of industrial growth trajectory.

The Chief Minister, while striking an emotional chord with the entrepreneurs, said them not to go anywhere and rather focus on expanding their business here to serve their motherland.

He said that the state government is already providing conducive conditions to industry in the state. Bhagwant Mann said that Punjabi entrepreneurs have proved their mettle across the globe and now they should focus on growth within the state.

The Chief Minister said that this will open new vistas of employment for youth besides giving major push to industry. He also announced that the state government will soon introduce colour coding for stamp papers to facilitate the industrialists for early clearance of their projects.

Bhagwant Mann said that massive efforts are also afoot for starting domestic flights from Adampur, Halwara and Bhisiana airports to facilitate the industry. The Chief Minister also said that the state government is giving major push to food processing sector in Punjab.

He said that this will create job opportunities for youth on one hand and immensely benefitting the farmers on the others. Bhagwant Mann said that every effort is being made to give a fillip to the industrial sector in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the state government will soon set up 20 dedicated Rural Industrial Hubs across the state. He said that these hubs will be equipped with state of the art infrastructure to facilitate the industrialists in setting up their units.

Bhagwant Mann assured fulsome support and cooperation to the industrialists opting for setting up their units in these hubs adding that the state government is fully committed to accelerate industrialist development in Punjab.

The Chief Minister further said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to further strengthen the single window system for facilitating the investors.

Bhagwant Mann pointed out that earlier single window service was merely a sham, devoid of any meaningful purpose, which not only demoralized the potential investors but also hampered the industrial development of the state.

However, he said that his government has ensured that the single window system works as a real facilitator to the entrepreneurs interested in investing in the state.

The Chief Minister quipped that earlier the industries used to sign MoUs with families in power but ever since he has assumed charge of government the agreements are signed for people of state.

He said that earlier the affluent families used to get benefit of these agreements but now Punjabis will be enjoy its fruits. Bhagwant Mann said that this is because his government is working untiringly for well being of every strata of society.

The Chief Minister said that due strenuous efforts of the state government the Tata group has started work to set up scrapped based steel plant in Punjab. He said that this project is first ever investment made by this globally acclaimed company in the state and second biggest in the country after Jamshedpur.

Bhagwant Mann expressed hope that investment by this major industrial group will further put the state on a high growth trajectory of industrial development besides opening new vistas of employment for the youth.
