Anmol Gagan Mann Inaugurates Three-Day Inquilab Festival In Khatkar Kalan

Projects Worth Rs 20 Crore On Heritage Street And Expansion Of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh Museum To Start Soon

Khatkar Kalan (SBS Nagar) : Tourism and Culture Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Mann on Thursday said that the work on the project worth Rs 20 crore for constructing a heritage street showcasing the glorious contribution of Punjab and Punjabis in the national freedom struggle would start soon.
After inaugurating a three-day inquilab festival dedicated to 116th birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh in Khatkar Kalan village of the district, Anmol Gagan Mann said that tenders of the heritage street project would be floated within a month by department as all formal proceedings have been completed.
She said that heritage street would be established from the existing museum to the ancestral house of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan. Besides this, the work on expansion of the museum worth Rs 6 crore will also begin here with funds have been sanctioned by government, the Minister added and said that Punjab government was committed to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs by ensuring a corruption-free and transparent administration to the people.
The Minister also said that the concerted efforts were being made to revive the tourism sector and Khatkar Kalan as a tourism hub will not only attract the attention nationally and globally, but will also inspire the generations. She said that the development of heritage sites would be carried out on top-priority as it will facilitate reverse migration.
Anmol Gagan Mann also inspected various stalls set up by the district administration in the ground of the museum. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Director Tourism Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa and others.
