Aam Aadmi Party exposes the lies of the channel which made Gurbani broadcasting their private ownership

PTC earned crores by privatizing and commercializing Gurbani - Malvinder Singh Kang

Chandigarh : Gurbani is common to all but unfortunately today a private channel is earning crores of rupees by acquiring the broadcasting rights, and the MD of that channel also tried to mislead the people by saying that Gurbani broadcast is free for all.
Addressing the press conference at the party office in Chandigarh, the chief spokesperson of AAP Punjab, Malvinder Singh Kang, said that on the demand of Sikh Sangat, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a historic decision to make the transmission of Gurbani from Darbar Sahib Sri Amritsar Sahib free for everyone so that Gurbani will reach all corners of the world.
Malvinder Kang said that for more than one and a half decades, the Shiromani Committee has given the rights to broadcast Gurbani to the PTC channel, and everyone knows who owns that channel. Based on the report of a committee formed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Kang told how this channel, which claims to broadcast Gurbani free of charge, took its commercial growth from three crore to one thousand crore rupees in these 16 years.
Denying the claims of PTC MD, Malvinder Kang presented evidence and said that Sikhs and Punjabis across the globe have to download PTC’s app to access Gurbani. They have to subscribe to its services by paying certain money every month, then how Gurbani broadcast remained free. And if it is really free for all then why is it not being telecast on any other channel?
Questioning the President of the Shiromani Committee, Harjinder Singh Dhami, he said that on what basis are they declaring the decision made by the Mann government to broadcast free Gurbani as an attack on the Panth? While everyone knows that by acquiring the rights to broadcast Gurbani, where a private channel and a family earned crores through TRPs, advertisements, etc., they also got their share of political benefits from it.
What would be a bigger tragedy for the Sikhs than that last year the Jathedar Sahib of Shri Akal Takht Sahib ordered the Shiromani Committee to make its own channel for Gurbani broadcasting, but instead of accepting it, today Singh Sahib was removed from the post. Expressing concern, Kang said that it is a pity that President Harjinder Singh Dhami has put the reputation of the entire Shiromani Committee at stake to save the politics of one channel and one family.
At last, Malvinder Kang thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for this decision to broadcast free Gurbani for all and said that the purpose of the government is to propagate Gurbani according to the merits of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He added that the message of Girbani should reach every household and the Mann government has done its duty, now it is the responsibility of the Shiromani Committee to do its part.
