The Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London crash is extremely tragic – Anil Vij

Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today called the crash of the Air India flight going from Ahmedabad to London a deeply tragic accident. He said this is an immense loss, as former Gujarat Chief Minister Sh.Vijay Rupani and other passengers were aboard the aircraft.

Sh. Vij was responding to questions asked by media personnel regarding the plane crash that occurred in Ahmedabad. When asked about Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah going to Ahmedabad, he said that “The Bharatiya Janata Party is a family and Vijay Rupani ji was the soul of that family, so the Prime Minister and Home Minister, among others, will definitely go.”

Sh. Vij added that Vijay Rupani ji had been a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and also served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He further stated that a large number of passengers were onboard the aircraft and as per the latest updates, approximately 242 people were on the flight.

It is noteworthy that today an Air India plane flying from Ahmedabad to London crashed. Rescue teams have reached the spot, and reports indicate that the crash occurred shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. It is said that there were 12 crew members onboard, including two pilots, along with 230 passengers.

Notably, the flight took off today at 1:38 PM and crashed just two minutes later at 1:40 PM near Medhaninagar, Ahmedabad. It is also reported that there were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, 7 Portuguese and 1 Canadian citizen onboard.
