Komal Mittal distributes sweets and blankets to patients of Government Nasha Mukti Kendra, Mohali
Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today visited the Government Nasha Mukti Kendra, Sector 66, Mohali, where she distributed sweet boxes and blankets to the patients undergoing de-addiction treatment, on the occasion of the festive season. During her visit, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the stalls displaying diyas (earthen lamps) made by them.
Appreciating their efforts, she said such activities help instill self-confidence and provide an opportunity for skill development and rehabilitation. Interacting with the patients undergoing de-addiction treatment, Komal Mittal encouraged them to embrace a new beginning and rejoin their families as responsible and self-reliant individuals.
She highlighted that the district administration, in collaboration with the NGOs, is making continuous efforts to impart skill training to the youth undergoing treatment so that they can earn a livelihood and reintegrate successfully into mainstream society after their discharge. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Sonam Chaudhary, ADC (Rural Development) and Secretary, District Red Cross Society, SAS Nagar, Harbans Singh, besides Dr. Pooja Garg from the Nasha Mukti Kendra and other staff members.
