FDP organised by CGC Landran
Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, successfully organised a five-day offline Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “A Roadmap for Holistic,Multidisciplinary, and Future-Ready Higher Education”, designed for newly inducted faculty members. The FDP aimed to align new educators with the institution’s academic vision, while building capacity in pedagogy, research, administration and personal development to meet the evolving demands of higher education.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran and Chief Guest Mr. Rajiv Bhargav, who were welcomed by Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, Dr. Ramandeep Saini, Director Principal, CBSA and members of faculty. Day one of the FDP featured insightful sessions on academic policies conducted by Dr. Jagtar Singh Khattra, Director Academics, CGC Landran; A session on and departmental functions by Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar, Dean, Student Welfare, Major H.S. Aulakh, Director Administration and Dr. Vivek Sharma, Registrar, CGC.
The day concluded with modules on professional etiquettes and team-building activities. The second day of the FDP focused on institutional quality and personal well-being. It included sessions on International Affairs and Internal Quality Assurance, helmed by Dr. Harsimran Kaur, Dean, IQAC, CGC, followed by modules on stress and anger management, research writing, patent filing, start-up mentoring and a session on HR functions delivered by Director HR, CGC Landran. Day three focused on academic excellence with topics such as accreditation, ICT tools, responsible social media use, instructional planning and rubrics and environmental responsibility; Day four covered leadership excellence, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, and a session by Dr. Ramandeep Saini on emotional intelligence and time management.
The day concluded with a session on IPR and yoga. The final day featured sessions on teamwork, corporate resource management, ERP applications and grant proposal writing. The programme concluded with a valedictory session in the presence of Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director; Barinder Sawhney, Director HR, and Dr. Ramandeep Saini, Director Principal CBSA, CGC Landran, during which participants shared reflections on the enriching experience.
The FDP provided a valuable platform for academic orientation, peer learning and professional development, laying a strong foundation for a committed, competent and future-ready faculty.
