Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry, informed the House that there is a proposal to re-model and reline Basra Sub Minor-2 in the Adampur constituency during the year 2026-27. The Minister was responding to a question raised by a member during the ongoing Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
She informed that before taking up Basra Sub Minor-2, it was necessary to line the main canal, Balsamand Sub Minor. After completion of Balsamand Sub Minor alongwith other allied carrier/feeding systems during the year 2023–24, and satisfactory feeding of the command areas, the process for Rehabilitation of Basra Sub Minor No. II has now been initiated.
She further informed that in the department’s STC meeting, the estimated cost of the project amounting to about Rs. 8.78 crore has been approved. After completion of all formalities, the work is likely to start by May 2026 and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2027.
