In the heavy rain, Home Minister Anil Vij took stock of the markets and colonies

Gave directions to the officials to drain out the water

Ambala : Haryana Home and Health Minister, Anil Vij said that despite heavy rains in Ambala Cantonment, water got drained out due to timely cleaning of drains. He said that there is water in some areas, where directions have been given to the officials to drain the water.
Sh. Vij was interacting with the media persons during the inspection of markets and colonies in Ambala Cantonment on Sunday in heavy rain.He said that to deal with water logging and other problems during rains, helpdesk number 0171-2643200 has been issued by the city council and staff and equipment have been provided there.
If there is any problem from anywhere, the staff will be deployed from the council on the spot.Home Minister Anil Vij took stock of the water level of the river on the Tangri river bridge and gave directions to the officials of the Municipal Council and Irrigation Department to ensure that river water does not enter Preet Nagar, Aman Nagar and Lucky Nagar located near the river.
He said that there is not much water in Tangri river now, if there is more water then all preparations have been made for this also. After this, Sh. Vij inspected Preet Nagar, Ekta Vihar, Rambagh Road, Sadar Bazar, Outer Road, Mahesh Nagar and other areas to take stock of the situation.

Home Minister Anil Vij inspected the Maheshnagar Pump House after inspecting the Tangri bridge. He learned about the working of the pump house from the staff present on the spot. The staff told that water is being pumped from the Maheshnagar drain to the Tangri river.
During this, Home Minister Anil Vij directed the officials of the Irrigation Department to arrange big generators here so that there is no hindrance in the work of pumping water even if there is a power failure.

Home Minister Anil Vij held a meeting with the city council officials and gave them directions for drainage etc. In the meeting, City Council Administrator Satendra Siwach apprised Home Minister Anil Vij that Ambala has received more than 250 mm of rain so far in one and half day, but water drainage work in colonies and markets were done. He told that the NAP team is stationed at different places since morning.

At the same time, while talking to reporters, Home Minister Anil Vij said that despite Sunday being a holiday, all officers and workers are inspecting different areas of the cantonment so that people can be helped.
Regarding the collapse of the roof of a room in Maheshnagar police station during rains, he said that land has been acquired for the construction of a new police station and a new building will be constructed soon and the old one will also be repaired.
Significantly, even before the monsoon, Home Minister Anil Vij has been holding meetings with the officials continuously. In the meeting, he emphasized on the cleaning of drains and due to the cleanliness, the problem of water-logging did not arise in Ambala Cantonment despite heavy rains.
