Weekly Block Diwas : DDC Poonch holds public hearing at Surankote

Poonch : District Development Commissioner Poonch, Sh. Inder Jeet today held a public grievance redressal camp here at block Surankote under the Block Diwas program.The programme was attended by DDC Member Surankote( A) Shawnawaz Chowdhary; DDC Member, Sohail Malik; BDC Chairman, Nazir Hussain; SDM, Surankote, Naheem un Nissa; CEO Tourism Dr. Mohd.Tanveer; ACD Rajesh Lakhan; CMO, G.A Malik; Tehsildar Surankote, Sheraz Ahmed; CHO, Satvir Singh; DSWO, Shakeel Ahmed; XEN PDD, Irshad Hussain; XEN PWD etc besides all AEE’s, JE’s, concerned officers, Sarpanches & Panches and prominent citizens.

During the meeting, PRIs members and locals raised several issues and demands of their areas including augmentation of water and power supply, better Medicare facility, improvement for roads, availability of transformers and other specific issues including, inclusion of left out beneficiaries in BPL list, Receiving centre for Dhundak, electric poles for Potha Lower, pending panch and sarpanch salaries, installation of PHE Pipes for Hari Upper, PHE lift scheme for Dhundak, transformer for potha L, requirement of bridge at Suran Mallah, drinking water supply to Potha Belabala, check on overcharging of fare by Tata Sumo, Payment of PMAY installments and Pending Old Age pension, vaccination of animals to avoid disease, Gynecologist for SDH Surankote, maintenance of Hari Upper road, Dhundak to Mahrote PWD road, Sangla road Mandi to Kalai road, Bufliaz to Mandi Fagla PMGSY road, Kaller kattel to Mahrote road, black topping of Pamrote to Lathoong PMGSY road, Dhundak Mahrote road and various other developmental related issues were discussed in detail.

Responding to the demands, the DDC asked for inclusion of genuine beneficiaries in the BPL list and issuance of BPL ration cards to them according to the merit and socio economic conditions of the beneficiaries.The Deputy Commissioner also asked for the constitution of tehsil level Committee headed by concerned tehsildar to examine and review the issue of BPL/ APL families.The DDC informed the Sarpanchs that the provision of construction materials for the remaining B2V works will be made in a hassle free manner on the release of payments to concerned vendors.Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities at the doorsteps of the public and necessary steps are being taken to ensure the same. He assured them that all their genuine demands and issues will be redressed in a phased manner.
