Chiranbal : The Largest sub alpine meadow of Kashmir

Kulgam (Mudasir Maqbool) : Chiranbal is a vast meadow located in Southern district of Kulgam. Despite the largest sub alpine meadow on the bank of Zajinar the most important tributary of Nallah veshaw.
It is one of unexplored places of Kashmir and didn’t recieve publicity that it deserves. most visitors are travelling famous destination Aherbal Waterfall in Kulgam area and are unaware of ‘Chiranbal meadow which is 15 kms away from Aherbal.
Chiranbal gives panorama view of entire Pir panjal Range. You can see Bramha Sakli mountains clearly from this meadow. Chiranbal is the best place for campsite, fishing, rafting, photography, horse riding etc.
Chiranbal meadow is bifurcated into two spots Hear and Bon Chiranbal. Hear ( small) Chiranbal is smaller than Bon ( big) Chiranbal. A vast range of alpine margs like Kachoi, Bardalow, Manzpal, and Hapatnad can be viewed from Chiranbal meadow. it provides a landscape where the snowcapped peaks of the Brahma Sakli Mountain overlook a vast area covered with emerald grassland and pine forest with the Zajinar river flowing through it.
The visitors of the area are mostly Shephard’s and hikers. Zajinar River in Chiranbal which uniquely provides the meadow all of its beauty and bobbing waters, is particularly beloved by night campers.people can set their camp next to the river, enjoying the sound of the pouring water.
The name ‘Chiranbal’ is a combination of two Kashmiri words: Chir, which is short for ‘young lamb’, and Bal, which denotes a ‘place’ are combined to form the name “Chiranbal” in Kashmiri
How to Reach Chiranbal Kulgam
One can reach here by trekking or in a 4×4 car and It’s 6kms trek from nearby village Manzgam where car can go then its a gentle trek of 1 hour to 15 minutes to Chiranbal Meadows. The dustance of road 75 km from Srinagar passed though Pulwama to Shopian to Aherbal to last village of Manzgam
