Reviews progress of financial Inclusion schemes with heads of banks & departments

Shopian : The Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz today chaired a Standup, Jan Dhan Yojna meeting with heads of departments and banks at Mini-Secretariat, here. During the meeting, ADC reviewed the progress under various financial inclusions, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and Stand up India scheme.
Standup India scheme facilitates bank loans to at least of Rs. 10 lakh and 01 Crore to at least one scheduled caste, scheduled tribe borrower and at least one woman borrower of 18 years age per bank branch for setting up a Greenfield enterprise to promote entrepreneurship among them.
The enterprise may be in manufacturing, services, trading or activities allied to agriculture. Woman entrepreneurs can be from categories other than SC/ST.Activities allied to agriculture include beekeeping, livestock, fishery, rearing, grading, food and agri-processing, diary, aggregation, agro- Industries, pisciculture, sorting etc.
The meeting was informed that the loan covers 85% of project cost and quick disposal with TAT of 15 days. It was further informed that an easy registration process is also available in SIDBU’S Standup India portal at home, at Khidmat centres, Common service centres, through a bank branch.ADC urged the banks to diligently work towards fulfilling the targets under these financial inclusion programmes for the current financial year.
He emphasised the importance of continuous monitoring to ensure the successful implementation of Standup India and saturation of Jan Dhan Yojna scheme. He stressed upon the officers of line departments for conducting awareness camps to motivate the people especially youth of the district to avail the Government and Centrally Sponsored Schemes to earn their livelihood.
ADC underscored the importance of swift bank account verification for successful implementation of Standup India for supporting traditional artisans and crafts people also. The meeting was attended by Cluster head J&K Bank, Bashir Ahmed; LDM, Farooq Ahmed; CEO, EO, District Manager NRLM and other concerned.
