Back to Village Phase IV : Sheetal Nanda visits Samba as part of Jan Abhiyan Programme

Samba : As part of ‘Back to Village’ programme Phase IV which is a sequel to Jan Abhiyan launched by the government, Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Sheetal Nanda, today visited Samba distrcit.

During the visit, Commissioner Secretary distributed baby care kits among the newly born girl children along with their mothers and pregnant women. She also distributed blankets among the mothers besides giving away nutrition kits to pregnant women under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.

On the occasion, Commissioner Secretary exhorted upon the young mothers to provide better education to their girl child and avail benefits under various schemes of SWD like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ladli Beti scheme, marriage assistance scheme and other programmes.

She also directed the ICDS department for covering each and every beneficiary ensuring benefit of various welfare schemes of the department to them.Commissioner Secretary laid emphasis on providing good nutrition for better mental and physical health of the newly born children and lactating mothers.Later, Commissioner Secretary visited District Hospital Samba and interacted with young nursing mothers.
